Description of Inspection Engineer |
Based onshore, you will ensure that all plant and equipment at the designated landsites/pipelines are inspected and certified in accordance with an approved plan. You will control and co-ordinate all inspection activities in accordance with the terms of the contract, ensuring regular feedback to the Oceaneering Senior Inspection Engineer. As an Inspection Engineer, duties will include: • Ensure that overall inspection and certification of plant and equipment on the designated landsite/pipeline complies with the requirements of appropriate standards, approved criticality procedures and statutory requirements to ensure continued integrity and plant availability • Issue formal certificates of examination for plant and equipment, including condition and observations • Apply judgement and experience in the assessment of defects and recommend future service life for approval or further assessment by Senior Inspection Engineer • Issue inspection queries/repair orders for anomalous/defect equipment where appropriate • Liaise with landsite/pipeline personnel to ensure activities such as equipment scheduling, planning availability, etc., cause minimum disruption and are implemented to the highest standard |

Skills required for Inspection Engineer |
• Ideally degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline, lesser qualifications will be accepted provided significant experience in inspection engineering can be demonstrated. • Experience in the field of plant and equipment inspection • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of design, manufacture, materials, corrosion, welding, codes, standards and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment • Familiar with QA/QC practices and NDE techniques • Able to generate a team approach to problem solving • Excellent communication skills • NDT certification for core techniques |
