Description of Marine Supervisor |
State Owned Oil Company is seeking to recruit Marine Supervisors (2 Nos). Job Responsibilities: • Inspect project vessel / spreads prior to their entry into the fields in order to ensure their conformity with safety and specification standards and advise for the preparation of entry permits accordingly. • Check and advise on project procedures for rigs / barge moves, including marine spread anchor patterns to ensure the safety of underwater installations. • Monitor the major work carried out at dry-dock and ship repair yards for Company contracted vessels. • Ensure that vessels’ engines, cranes, generators, compressors, welding machines and other mobile equipment / machinery are running and comply with Company procedures. • Ensure that the preventive maintenance programmes are met for all marine units involved in Company marine operations. • Follow-up and monitor the maintenance programmes carried out by contracted marine vessels. • Carry out the corrective actions when vessels operating below Company standards or contractual obligations. • Perform the duties of Marine Advisor on board barges or special assigned vessel during critical project operation and barge moves within the fields. • Carry out inspection of Marine Vessels and barges for compliance with International and Company standards. • Conduct online / offline survey of marine vessels and prepare for marine entry permits of approved vessels. • Stand in for offshore marine supervisor as and when required • Monitor offshore weather conditions forecast and ensure it is forwarded to all marine vessels operating for Company specially during marginal weather conditions. • Candidate must have a very good command of English Language (Both Spoken and Written) and should be willing to work in a multicultural environment and should be willing for cross posting to any onshore / offshore marine position as and when required by the company. |

Skills required for Marine Supervisor |
• Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) • Eight years post qualification, in an officer position, out of which three years in offshore oil operations in the oil and gas industry. |
