Description of Mechanical Design Engineer (Pressure Vessels) |
Reporting Relation: Reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Review and oversee all drafter designs referring to vessels. • Review drafter designs to ASME code, and ensure that they meet client specifications and the quote provided. • Review design conditions and codes and ensure drawings are to specifications. • Ensure that good engineering practices are being used at all times. • Compare drafters design to the design supplied from the customer specs. • Review and analyze for potential problems. • Provide recommendations to specs, vessels, materials and process. • Actively supports, participates in, and maintains the integrity and on-going function of the company and facility’s safety program; ensuring a safe/healthy work environment. Accountable for: • Review designs from drafters. • Protect public safety. |

Skills required for Mechanical Design Engineer (Pressure Vessels) |
• BS or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering • 7-10 years of experience post qualification, conversant with ASME Codes and other International Standards, Pressure Vessels Handbooks, hands on experience in Designing of Pressure Vessel, Columns and their components, conversant with Pressure Vessels Designing Software COMPRESS • Familiar with ISO 9000 requirements, Industrial Health, Safety and Environmental requirement etc • Capable of resolving the design issues with Client and shop, Technical Clarifications |
