Description of Petroleum Engineering Specialist |
• The Incumbent will be part of the Production Engineering and will be responsible about an area with group of wells and production facilities. • Develop and coordinate major studies in any of the petroleum engineering areas. • Consult with and provide technical guidelines to management and related engineering groups on matters which falls with their area of responsibility. • Review activities requirements and ensure implantation. • Schedule well work to ensure the wellhead and down hole integrities. • Recommend and implement ways to improve the well productivities. • Review remedial actions to safe upkeep of wells and producing facilities. • Review work of engineers directed on project where additional manpower has been assigned. • The incumbents must have the ability to train, develop and coach others. • Incumbents must be aware of the safety related issue with well, production facilities and environment. |

Skills required for Petroleum Engineering Specialist |
• Minimum 12 years of diversified experience with broad knowledge of all facets of production engineering. • Should have extensive experience of well completion/recompletion operations, wellbore intervention techniques and optimization of production systems. • Design, installation and performance monitoring of ESPs and gas lifting. Moreover, application of hydraulic fracturing techniques in tight carbonate reservoirs. • Off shore gas engineering experience is strongly desired. • Thorough understanding of safety and environmental practices. • Effective communication and mentoring with high computer skills. • BS Engineering or equivalent technical field. • MS or PhD is desirable, but not required. • Intensive industry training including appropriate specialized courses and seminars is expected. |
