Boots & Coots provides a suite of integrated pressure control and related services to onshore and offshore oil and gas exploration and development companies primarily in North America, South America, North Africa, West Africa and the Middle East. Boots & Coots is searching for a talented Safety Engineer for a rotation position in Libya. Job Description: • Provides high level advice on process safety engineering to the client within several different operations and engineering disciplines. • Responsible for delivering absolute technical / process safety engineering • Interfaces directly with the Loss Prevention and Environment Team. • Provides advice at basis of design and initial capital project development stage • Facilitates and provides process engineering expertise to questions on HAZOP's and HAZID's • Develops an understanding of the process safety methodology • Provides process engineering expertise to questions • Develops and maintains an HSE Case • Carries out hazard and effect modeling using the Bowtie methodology • Participates in incident investigation |

Skills required for Safety Engineer |
Requirements: • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (chemical or mechanical relating to process safety) • Qualified in facilitating HAZOPs and HAZIDs • Minimum 10 years experience within petroleum industry having similar responsibilities identified in this role Qualifications and experience are desired in the following areas: • Occupational/Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related disciplines and Auditing • Sound knowledge in process safety systems design • Knowledge of production and drilling operations in the hydrocarbon industry • Knowledge on management systems with an emphasis on management of change • Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative Risk Assessment • Sound knowledge of industry best practices, COP and international standards • Carry out the appropriate safety analysis of process change • Technically proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio • Proficient with reporting and report writing • Able to work in a multicultural society where English is the second language • Ability to assimilate into a Libyan company with an Arab culture • Hold an International Driving License • Ability to travel and work in Libya on rotation |
