Description of Scaffolding Supervisor |
Background: • The Scaffolding Supervisor reports to the Civil Section Head. This section is responsible for the scaffolding erected by Contractor staff, the Safety and Inspection of scaffolds, dismantling and familiarity with a wide range of designs and scaffolding techniques Main Accountabilities: • To input data and information into the MAXIMO CMMS system for tracking of work orders and plant shutdown requests. • To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures. • To evaluate man-hours required to install each Scaffolding work order and ensure Contractor meets these constraints. • To advise Civil Section Head in advance when the permanent Scaffolding Contractor staff, need to be increased for covering the relevant planned work orders. • To maintain the inventory of various types of Scaffolding materials, maintain records and inform Civil Section Head accordingly. • To provide instruction to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization. • To ensure certification of Scaffolds by the HSE department prior to use. • To prepare contingency plans for unplanned shutdown activities and apportion the costs in consultation with the Section Head. Main Challenges: • To improve the physical management of Contractor related HSE issues, with due regard to the large teams of Contractor staff scattered in remote locations around the plant and working in physically challenging conditions. |
