Description of Senior Acquisitions Engineer

Essential Functions:
1. Attend data rooms to gather and analyze pertinent information on target acquisitions;
2. Perform detailed analysis on production, capital, reserves and economics on target acquisitions using Aries, Excel and any other resource to obtain this goal;
3. Interact with operations, accounting, land and marketing to obtain all necessary information for evaluations;
4. Work with internal and external financial analysts to determine impact of target acquisitions on PDC as a corporation;
5. Present results of economics and analysis to management;
6. Build Aries databases with support from technicians for target acquisition;
7. Interact with reserve and geologic consultants for special projects requiring outside assistance;
8. Travel when required to meet with companies, participate in data rooms and attend conferences.

Summary:
Technical evaluations on target acquisitions and select divestitures based on production, reserves and cashflows. Presentation of final analysis to management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. There are no initial supervisory responsibilities related to this position.

Working Conditions:
1. Consistent with that of a normal office environment;
2. Must be able to travel as necessary to acquisition data rooms in various parts of the country.

Skills required for Senior Acquisitions Engineer

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Possess high level ability in Aries or similar reserve evaluation software package, database manipulation (Access, SQL), Excel, and Word;
2. Broad knowledge of and working experience in reservoir analysis including but not limited to decline curve analysis, volumetrics, material balance and risk assessment;
3. Ability to assess upside potential and develop reasonable timing for capital projects;
4. Strong understanding of economics (present values, rate of returns, r/p, capital allocation, etc.);
5. Strong understanding of SEC reserve definitions and categories;
6. Ability to analyze Lease Operating Statements to determine historical operating costs, marketing differentials and lease level overhead for ARIES projections;
7. General understanding of Gas Plant statements including natural gas liquid yields and corresponding gas shrinkage and Gas Plant takes;
8. General understanding of commodity marketing contracts;
9. Experience with Power Point for giving presentations;
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
11. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage deadlines;
12. Effective problem solving and critical thinking;
13. Ability to self manage and self motivate;
14. Operational knowledge, i.e. completions, production, facilities, and drilling;
15. Solid interpersonal skills;
16. Strong computer skills required;
17. Must have strong sense of integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering;
2. Minimum 5 years experience in acquisitions, reservoir and/or production engineering.
