Description of Senior Drilling Engineer |
An International Oil & Gas Company is looking for a Senior Drilling Engineer to work in Lagos, Nigeria. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following: • Well and completion planning in accordance with the Well Delivery Process. • Provide planning schedules for all drilling programs. • Track schedules and monitor implementation to schedule. • Provide initial well timelines for planning purposes, drilling time curves, and initial cost estimates. Review with drilling superintendent and drilling manager. • Provide proper technical and commercial input to tender documents for services and products. • Evaluate tenders both technically and commercially with appropriate recommendations. • Provide detailed Scope of Work for drilling services. • Carry out contracts management. • Acquire planning data from geology, reservoir engineering or geophysics as necessary. • Carry out offset well data analysis. • Design drilling/completion and work-over programs (deepwater operations) • Recommend means of avoiding drilling problems such as how to ensure well bore stability, tackling lost circulation and stuck pipe. • Work with various service vendors to ensure plans are achievable. • Review with engineer on DIMS the provision of End of Well reports. • Provide engineering support/advise to the rig on program implementation. Check and sign job tickets (not invoices) from service contractors. |

Skills required for Senior Drilling Engineer |
• BS degree in Engineering (minimum) • Candidate must have previous work experience as a Drilling Engineer in water depths ranging between (20 to 600 mtrs). • Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers. Member IADC. Attended industry courses in well engineering, well operations management and project management. • Good technical knowledge of well planning and well operations. Initiative to proffer solutions to technical problems. Sound knowledge of IADC/API guidelines for well operations. • Holder of IWCF well control certification and Offshore Survival certificate. |
