Description of Senior Geoscientist |
The Company is leading the way with its research, development and operational endeavours to successfully commercialise a low carbon footprint form of renewable energy from hot fractured rocks, well below the earth’s surface. While this form of energy is yet to be proven commercial viable anywhere in the world, there is now sufficient data and international green energy demand to suggest that HFR Geothermal is likely to soon enter the world energy market with a base-load contribution often lacking with other forms of renewable energy. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Reservoir Development Manager, you will develop geological models of Engineered Geothermal System (EGS) and Hot Sedimentary Aquifer (HSA) reservoirs and their overburden as input to reservoir development plans for long-term commercial production of geothermal power. General role requirements include, but are not limited to: • Practical geocellular modelling, and fractured reservoir modelling, using recognised industry packages • Developing seismic and other methods to detect, map and characterise natural and engineered fractures in geothermal reservoirs • Developing conceptual models of the linkage between geological facies and fracture development or flow potential • Developing 3D geological models of geothermal reservoirs, overburden and the natural and engineered fractures within the reservoirs • Providing a range of geological models for reservoir simulation of potential geothermal developments • Developing and overseeing a work program in various geothermal exploration tenements • Guide and mentor less experienced geoscience staff • Engage with joint venture participants on all aspects of geological modelling and reservoir development planning • Liaise with internal and external research organisations to direct selected research into technologies, design and methods for geothermal reservoir development and modelling |
