Description of Senior Production Technologist |
Maersk Oil is looking for a Senior Production Technologist to the Petroleum Engineering Department in our Esbjerg Offices. The Esbjerg Offices constitute the headquarters for all Maersk Oil production activities in the Danish sector of the North Sea. Approximately 350 onshore employees are on a daily basis working in the office and the working environment is international, hectic, and characterized by highly skilled and motivated employees. The Senior Production Technologist will be a member of the Petroleum Engineering Department. The Petroleum Engineering Department consists of 5 groups, where four are located in Copenhagen and one in Esbjerg. The Esbjerg group is responsible for well optimizations and special studies. The well optimization group pursues barrel chasing, well prioritization, forecasting and hands on assistance to well interventions. The special studies ranges from major rationalizations and concepts to generation of production enhancements. Responsibilities: The Senior Production Technologist will: • Undertake conceptual work for rationalizations and new development concepts • Be the Senior engineer solving major allocation errors caused by a very complex and large process and well infrastructure • Facilitate production enhancement opportunities • Perform well optimizations and must be strong within the artificial lift discipline The Senior Production Technologist may be required to act as team deputy and lead a multi disciplinary group with facility and petroleum engineers. Liaison and cooperation with Engineering, Projects, Offshore and Maintenance Groups are within the merit of the job. The successful candidate must operate well in the grey zone between subsurface and facilities. |

Skills required for Senior Production Technologist |
Qualifications: The successful candidate has a degree in chemical/process/mechanical engineering and has operational experience. Furthermore, the right candidate is characterized by: • Independence, effectiveness and hands-on understanding • Ability and desire to find technically and financially optimal solutions • Good communication skills in English, both verbally and written • Ability to grow into technical leadership position Candidates with minimum 6 years experience will be considered for the positions. |
