Description of Senior Reservoir Engineer |
The company is leading the way with its research, development and operational endeavours to successfully commercialise a low carbon footprint form of renewable energy from hot fractured rocks, well below the earth’s surface. While this form of energy is yet to be proven commercial viable anywhere in the world, there is now sufficient data and international green energy demand to suggest that HFR Geothermal is likely to soon enter the world energy market with a base-load contribution often lacking with other forms of renewable energy. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Reservoir Development Manager, you will develop hydraulic and thermodynamic simulation models of Engineered Geothermal System (EGS) and Hot Sedimentary Aquifer (HSA) reservoirs as input to reservoir development plans for long term production of geothermal power. Specific tasks include the development of calibrated hydraulic and thermo-dynamic models of fluid flow in geothermal reservoirs along with developing and overseeing a work program for external reservoir engineering consultants and engaging with JV participants. |

Skills required for Senior Reservoir Engineer |
Your qualifications and experience should include a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science, supported with a minimum of 10 years practical reservoir engineering experience in petroleum or geothermal reservoirs. Demonstrable experience leading and mentoring less experienced engineering staff is a prerequisite. Practical experience of thermo-dynamic modelling will be highly regarded. | ||
