Description of Senior Vice President - Drilling and Completions, Performance Management

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, International Operations East, The Senior Vice President, Drilling & Completion, Performance Management will oversee and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement of the drilling and completion function within Talisman, providing leadership and guidance to the Drilling & Completions Global Network activities.

The Senior Vice President, D&C Performance Management will act as the functional “voice of the D&C group” at headquarters and be the first point of contact for the Executive Leadership Team and other key stakeholders.

Regional D&C managers report operationally within their respective regions, but will report functionally to this position.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the execution phase of the D& C Profitability initiative.
• Manage and implement D&C best practices and standard processes (including Value Improvement Processes, Project Delivery System ,Peer Reviews, and Risk Identification and Management) and associated best practices in all TLM D & C operations
• Provide technical support (including well control and major incident management support) and decision quality assurance services to all regions.
• Drive D&C technology innovation with the support of subsurface groups
• Establish and manage a central D&C performance system (KPI’s, reporting process, benchmarking practices, remedial actions, etc)
• Establish good practices for conducting performance dialogues and implement these across all D&C functions
• Coordinate with SCM group key vendor strategies and support the QPR process
• Monitor and optimize the D&C resource pool by designing in conjunction with HR a talent management strategy
• Represent Talisman and model Talisman values to all internal and external stakeholders

Skills required for Senior Vice President - Drilling and Completions, Performance Management

In addition to experience in the areas mentioned above, the ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:
• 20+ years of practical drilling and completion experience, with 10 years of previous experience in a drilling and completion management role (including both engineering and operations)
• Previous experience in another functional role preferred
• Engineering or Science University degree
• Clear understanding of the role of the D&C organization in creating value for Talisman shareholders
• International experience, with ability to interact/communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment and efficiently influence key decisions
• Hands on approach, self starter and driven to deliver results
• Willing to travel and spend time in the regions as required
• The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams internationally
