Description of Senior Well Engineer |
An International Oilfield Service Company is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Well Engineer to work for their project in and outside Iraq. Responsibility/Accountabilities: • Ability to forge a team to manage drilling operations during preparation and execution phase. • Responsible for the planning and management of the execution phase of drilling and completion operations, with the full integration of the technical well engineering team, subsurface team. • Accountable for HSE performance for the project being managed. Actively promote HSE and Sustainable Development in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles, the HSE Management System and applicable Safety Cases. • Ensure all key service providers are fully engaged with the project from the earliest planning phase onwards. • Provide operational input to conceptual well planning for new opportunities being planned in the venture. • Accountable for managing well costs in line with Business Plan targets • Supervise and contribute to well designs, programmes and plans to meet well objectives. Actively drive the identification, development and implementation of new technology. Provide technical advice on all aspects of well operations. • Manage / liaise with service contractors to maintain the provision of high quality, cost effective services in accordance with the respective contracts. |

Skills required for Senior Well Engineer |
• 10-12 years experience in Well Engineering • In-depth knowledge of well programming & construction. • A professional graduate engineer in possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant science discipline. • Exposure as Drilling Supervisor and Operations Well Engineer. • Proven abilities in completion operations with associated logistics challenges. • In-depth knowledge of the well construction process from initial design to completion. • Experience in new technology implementation and QA/QC of well work (Well Delivery and Drilling the Limit processes would be an advantage) • Proven project / team / man management skills. • He/she must be a team player/builder with good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels and be capable of motivating and stimulating subordinates to achieve breakthrough performance. • Proven track record in delivering result in a challenging environment. • Ability to control and manage emergency situations. • Strong HSE leadership and the ability to prioritize HSE over Delivery of Operational targets. • Good understanding of the well engineering interface issues in a multi-disciplinary environment. • Good technical and practical expertise with a good business sense & commercial awareness. |
