Description of Specialist (Sequence Stratigraphy)

PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (Carigali) is a wholly owned Exploration and Production (E&P) subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia. Carigali is actively expanding beyond the shores of Malaysia towards attaining its vision to be A Multinational Exploration and Production ( E&P ) Company of Choice Creating Value through Continuous Improvement and Growth.

Currently, Carigali has expanded from domestic E&P company into a full-fledged international organization with interest in 25 countries mainly in South East Asia, Africa, Central Asia and Middle East.

Job Description:
• Undertake sequence stratigraphic studies for both exploration and production applications.
• Provide technical leadership, drive and self-motivation in applying sequence stratigraphic studies to Carigali’s extensive global E&P business.
• Share expertise with other Carigali staff through participation at technical meetings, mentoring and training.

Skills required for Specialist (Sequence Stratigraphy)

Qualifications:
• Degree / M. Sc / Ph. D in Geosciences (Geology, Geophysics &
Physics)

Experience and skills required:
• 10 to 20 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry.
• Experienced and expert in clastic and / or carbonate depositional systems.
• Has performed independent studies in sequence stratigraphy, preferably in a range of different sedimentary basins involving variety of depositional systems.
• Hands-on seismic stratigraphy experience, which include recent experience in deepwater depositional systems.
• Competent seismic interpreter with expert knowledge in sedimentology and depositional systems and sound conceptual understanding of sequence stratigraphy.
