Description of Strategic Sales Manager |
Duties: • The Strategic Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing company in the US and North American Market. • This position will focus on selling and distributing company’s Fixed Refining and Petrochemical Equipment. • Target clients will include Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms as well as other business opportunities predominately in the Petrochemical industry. • The position will be the point of contact to ensure the Company is properly represented to clients / potential clients in order to secure a profitable share of the market. • This position will fulfill general business requirements for the profitable expansion and growth of the company’s share of the market in which it operates. • Review the client’s inquiries to establish that the technical and commercial requirements are of nature to enhance the company’s standing in the market and commensurate with its preferred field of operation. • This position will be the head the North American Sales force and will work in coordination with the procurement and manufacturing team. • Later responsibilities will include growing a sales team based in Houston. The Strategic Sales Manager’s duties will include: • Survey potential customers to benchmark the current status of the marketplace focusing on EPC companies in North America Survey markets for price, delivery and market demand information of major products and materials like petrochemical equipment, steel pipe, and steel plate, and technology-related items, etc. • Develop a Sales plan including short term and long term forecast. • Execute the Sales plan while benchmarking successes and points of improvement. • Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating sales, resources and/or revenues for the company. • Develop policies, guidelines, tools and templates to aid the company in managing their project procurement function • Participate in Conferences and Trade Shows as required |

Skills required for Strategic Sales Manager |
• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering • Minimum of 10 years experience in Sales /Marketing/ Business Development in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry Projects out of which minimum of 5 years experience are in sales • Knowledge of project management is necessary for this candidate to be successful • Experience working with fixed equipment within Petrochemical Plants or Refineries. • Experience working with International EPC firms in major petrochemical or refinery projects. • Knowledge of the procurement process within an EPC firm Experience working in a Refinery or Petrochemical Plant as an Engineer Core Competencies: • In depth understanding of Refinery or Petrochemical Plants and a general understanding of the Refinery or Petrochemical processes. • Excellent coordination, monitoring and sales skills • Excellent Communication skills, both written and spoken • Project Management Experience • Analytical skills • Cost consciousness • Negotiation skills • Process Orientation Functional Competencies: • Knowledge of contracting process and associated local, state, federal, and other regulations • Knowledge of procurement-related applications (ERP and others) • Knowledge of contract and business law • Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques Additional: • Applications are invited from candidates with relevant sales and procurement experience in EPC of refinery, petrochemical and oil & gas projects with at least ten years experience in a sales and business development role. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship. |
