Description of Technical Assistant – Global Drilling and Completions Discipline

Position Overview:
With a clearly defined growth strategy and a diverse set of global operations, Talisman is driving a new initiative to strengthen our drilling & completion performance. The vision is to establish a central D&C group to focus on performance management, technical support and delivery of best practice on a global scale. Currently, we are recruiting for a Drilling & Completions Technical Assistant role that will be responsible for support the team in creating and distributing technical documents, performance measures and personnel development within the organisation.
This role will be responsible for D&C Technical & Process Support:

The principal requirement is for Technical Author support familiar with:
• Documenting Well-related business / project management processes.
• Assisting in the management, verification and interpretation of information held in systems operated by the Central D&C Group.

Primary functions will be:
• Responsible for the weekly global D&C key wells report.
• Responsible for the continued maintenance and development of all Central D&C documents, procedures and templates.
• Manage the D&C Revision Process to ensure modification and updates of documents are managed effectively.
• Assist in the global distribution of best practice and knowledge transfer.
• Assist in Compliance Audits to assess the consistency of application of processes in project teams.
• Assist document and process review in relation to other processes operated by Talisman globally. Assisting in the revision and alignment as necessary.
• Provide guidance and training on the application of Central D&C documents, providing worked examples to support the understanding of process users.
• Support the best practice application of the processes, documents and systems used.
• Assist the technical authors and co-ordinate the completion of Best Practice / Guidelines.
• Assist in the management of the Global D&C network

D&C Performance Support:
• Assist in the development and collation of global D&C performance measures and data (not limited to HSE/OI, D&C technical and financial).
• Support performance monitoring in the Global D&C Group, assist in improve existing performance tools and developing new systems as required.
• Support the benchmarking process within the Global D&C Group.
• Support the D&C Central Group prepare and deliver business reviews and technical presentations as required
• Manage and maintain the D&C Discipline Network internal web homepage implementing improvements as required
• Provide assistance to the D&C Performance Dialogue process
• Support improvement projects as required

New Technology Support:
• Aligned with the corporate strategy, support the D&C Technical Advisers in identifying and justifying the use of new technology in the global D&C regions. The aim is to both improve D&C performance while maximising potential oil recovery reducing total well life cost.

Documentation & Database Maintenance:
• Act as a focal point for day to day management of D&C global processes, databases and reporting.

Skills required for Technical Assistant – Global Drilling and Completions Discipline

• 10 years of industry experience, preferably in D&C.
• Good knowledge of Standard Microsoft and proprietary software.
• History of working in a D&C group.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Understanding of major activities required to support D&C activities.
• Good interpersonal skills to allow liaison with multiple D&C Global teams.
