An International Oilfield Service Company is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Well Engineer for their project in and outside Iraq. Key Activities: • Provide drilling engineering and well construction support to a multi-disciplinary development team. • Provide well construction/drilling engineering input to future development projects. • Interface with field operations and drilling personnel. • Develop and evaluate drilling rig contracting strategies. • Work in close liaison with geologists, geophysicists, and petrophysicists to ensure that accurate formation evaluation data is acquired during drilling and workover operations. • Understand the key subsurface uncertainties to minimize drilling time and optimise future well locations. • Compile technical reports, work schedules, resource plan, time writing plans for the effective management of subsurface workflows for development project phases. • Oversee contractor performance on authorized technical studies. • Ensure compliance with Company Quality Assurance Framework and approvals procedures. |

Skills required for Well Engineer |
• MEng Petroleum Engineering, MSc Degree in Reservoir Engineering • 10-12 years relevant experience in drilling/well engineering • Recent and releveant experience in planning, drilling and completing horizontal and multil-lateral wells. • Knowledge of breadth and depth of drilling engineering needed to enable quality control of contractor technical work, ensuring appropriate techniques and standards are applied and opportunities for technical and business improvements are realized. • Sound understanding of associated subsurface disciplines (petroleum engineering, geology, petrophysics, geophysics) with the ability to incorporate multi-discipline team results into final work product • Can solve unique and complex drilling/well engineering problems with minimal guidance and direction. • Performance focussed – results orientated • Ability to influence • Ability to integrate/motivate teams • Promotes use of best-in-class technology. • Keeps abreast of developments in the field of drilling/well engineering. • Team player mindset with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment |
