The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) 2009 brought together more than 9300 attendees and over 360 exhibitors at the SEG’s 79^th Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas, USA. Geophysicists, geologists, earth scientists, energy industry executives, researchers and software developers attended the conference to learn about the latest technology and advances in exploration.

Worldwideworker.com and Hunt Oil were both recruiting during this event and many geophysical professionals registered with Worldwidworker.com whilst visiting the exhibition. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2009 Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) brought together approximately 8000 oil and gas E&P professionals from around the world and had more than 390 exhibiting companies. The show featured the latest products and services in the E&P industry.

Hunt Oil Company, Maersk Oil and Petronas Carigali participated in the Worldwideworker.com Recruitment Event and Our Worldwideworker.com Wall of Opportunities was also featured, with hundreds of oil and gas jobs worldwide.

University students, which represent approximately 1,400 of ATCE’s attendees, had the opportunity to participate in events and sessions specifically for them, including the Student Recruiting and Networking Fair and the PetroBowl, where student chapter teams compete in a tournament-style contest that tests their knowledge of SPE and the E&P industry.

A record-breaking week at SPE Offshore Europe has seen the international event raise the bar even higher with record crowds and the largest ever exhibition, alongside a conference which featured many of the world’s leading energy industry and political figures.

The premier upstream oil and gas event drew more than 49,000 attendees, 20% more than the previously record-breaking 2007 conference and exhibition, and featured more than 1,500 exhibiting companies from around the world. This year’s exhibition was the largest in the event’s history, expanding 11% compared to the last show in 2007 with 13 international pavilions and an entire new hall. This included 330 companies participating at the show for the first time.

The Worldwideworker.com Recruitment Event was located at a premium spot in the Arena, and featured recruiters from Addax Petroleum, DONG Energy E&P and Petronas Carigali. Denver, Colorado, USA (June 7-10, 2009) - The American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG) 2009 Annual Convention & Exhibition (ACE) brought together 7,452 attendees from nearly 90 countries for a world-class event under the theme, A Passion for The West Lives On: Are You In? The 2009 ACE recorded the third-largest number of attendees in more than 10 years.

Amsterdam, Netherlands (8-11 June 2009) - The 71st EAGE Conference & Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2009 in Amsterdam has been a success in terms of number and quality of papers. Almost 5.000 participants were present in Amsterdam and in total 299 companies were represented at the exhibition.

Offshore Technology Conference Attendance Proves Strong in Tough Year

HOUSTON, Texas, USA (May 7, 2009) -- Attendance at the 2009 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) reached 66,820 strong despite a global economic recession and initial concerns about swine flu. Energy professionals from more than 120 countries met at the world's largest offshore resources industry event, held May 4-7 at Reliant Park in Houston. Attendance was a little less than in 2008, but exceeded expectations considering economic conditions. The 2009 exhibition was the second largest in OTC's 40-year history, with more than 557,000 square feet of exhibition area filled to capacity by 2,500 companies from 38 countries.

"This year's attendance levels underscore that in a downturn, energy professionals come to OTC to learn about technologies and innovative approaches to reduce their costs and improve performance. OTC is known for presenting new and proven technologies that will help companies find and produce more oil and gas in deeper waters, and for sharing lessons learned on global projects that advance the offshore industry," said Don Vardeman, 2009 OTC chairman.

Worldwideworker.com presented themselves at the European Wind Energy Conference and Exhibition in Marseille in March. Over 390 exhibitors, spread across 9,000 m2 in 3 halls, and more than 7,500 participants from all over the world were present for the largest ever wind energy event in Europe.

Worldwideworker.com had their own booth at the exhibition, which attracted a lot of people, both from candidates’ perspective as business-wise. Next to the main exhibition booth, Worldwideworker was also present at the EWEC Job Fair, next to some of the major players in the industry.

AOG is the premier oil and gas industry exhibition in Australia and has run for over a quarter of a century. Hosted over three days at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, the event was the largest petroleum exhibition ever held in the Southern Hemisphere and has reinforced its standing as the premier event for those concerned with the oil and gas industry.

Tanja Oldenziel is a Senior Search Consultant. She recently moved to Norway after having spent several years with Worldwideworker.com in the Middle East. She specializes in Executive Search and high level Technical Search in the E&P side of the oil industry. Tanja has an MSc degree in Petroleum Engineering and a PhD in Time-lapse Seismic, both from Delft University of Technology.

The theme of the conference “Energy Independence with Global Co-operation: Challenges & Solutions” amply reflects the need of the times. The 5 day conference thronged big number of visitors mainly clients from the energy market- big and small who are looking for services, collaborations, joint ventures, resources predominantly manpower, materials etc. This show was very useful for Worldwideworker as a company at the time of global meltdown where India subcontinent is thirsty for energy with its numerous new findings. We could generate good number of inquires here from clients who were exhibitors and visitors seeking our help to find high skilled people in the E&P areas. Vis-à-vis few hundred’s of candidates with varying experience level currently working in India and outside approached us inquiring opportunities within India. Overall this has been a good show for us despite there was no clients participated along with us exclusively for recruitment.

In total approximately 2900 G&G people visited the show, this figure is one of the highest for PETEX ever.

This year’s ADIPEC 2008 bought together more than 200 international speakers, nearly 2,000 delegates, 1500 exhibitors, 18 national pavilions and 39,000 visitors from 89 different countries.
During the 4 day exhibition the Worldwideworker booth displayed our large “Worldwideworker.com Wall of Job Opportunities” which attracted a large number of local as well as international candidates and clients.

Inquiries from new clients mostly concerned questions about whether or not we can source people in geosciences / offshore design / commercial / contracting / offshore construction and other specific areas. YES WE CAN! Some companies who weren’t familiar with us yet were interested in knowing how we can support their hiring plan. We are always happy to able to look at individual needs and discuss tailor made solutions.
For candidates who have already uploaded their CV on our website, or who were planning to do so, it was a great opportunity to meet us in person and look for suitable and challenging new jobs on the spot.

Although Worldwideworker did not bring any clients along to recruit on the show site this time, we set out to grow our database with many talented Middle Eastern and Asian Oil & Gas professionals and business opportunities in this part of the world seem to be booming. Husum, Germany - It has been a very successfull week for the team as Worldwideworker participated in Wind Energy Career Event , working with Econcern, a leading european Renewable Energy company, held last in September 2008.

The event served as a very efficient high level recruitment event for Econcern and Worldwideworker in the growing field of Renewable Energy. A lot of professionals – candidates from graduates up to management level, as well as prospect clients have come and visited the booth as they showed interest in working for Econcern in a variety of exiting vacancies. The show was very busy and a much higher than expected number of visitors attended the event.

ONS 2008 has attracted more visitors than ever before in its 34-year history, with more than 40,000 people estimated to have attended by comparison with 35,507 in 2006.
The three specialty parks for LNG, innovation and renewable energy – and particularly the last of these – have enjoyed a level of visitors which exceeded all expectations.

Kjell Ursin-Smith, chief executive of the ONS Foundation says:
“I’ve also noted reports from the LNG and innovation parks that their visitors have been not only numerous but also very relevant for their particular concerns.”
He believes that ONS will be further expanded in 2010 as a meeting place for the wider energy industry.
"In particular, we’ve registered interesting contacts between the petroleum industry and the Renewable Energy Park, and I think we’ll make further progress in the renewables area.”

The WPC is where governments and oil companies, IOCs and NOCs, industry and stakeholders from around the globe come together to set out the way forward for the petroleum sector. Held every three years, the World Petroleum Congress well deserves its reputation as the ‘Olympics of the oil and gas industry’.

The WPC in Madrid drew more than 4,000 energy executives and specialists, up to 40 oil ministers, a host of NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and plenty of media.It was a great opportunity for Worldwideworker.com to promote its services for such a high level audience, and network with main sponsor and Worldwideworker client Repsol YPF.

This year NEFTEGAZ – the largest International Exhibition of Equipment for the Oil and Gas Industries in Russia has celebrated its 30^th anniversary. Held in the best exhibition venue in the centre of Moscow the show included the show included 1048 companies from 40 countriesThe exhibition was attended by more than 20,000 visitors from 35 countries. 95% of the visitors were oil&gas specialists according to the show statistics.

The Worldwideworker booth was attended by numerous visitors who wanted to know more about the company, its services and clients. The “Wall of Opportunities attracted” a lot of attention and many professionals were happy to be interviewed for relevant positions by Maersk Oil recruiters on-site.

The 70th EAGE Conference & Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2008 in Rome has been a success in terms of number and quality of papers and an attendance of almost 5800 participants. In total 296 companies were represented at the international exhibition.
